Bagging 15 Lakes in One Day in Olallie Lake Scenic Area
An overview of my first exploration of Olallie Lake Scenic area full of drive up lakes, short bushwhacks and a hike.
I realized I tend to put out posts specific to certain lakes but haven't really done any posts showing the days where I go out exploring and bag multiple lakes in a day. So I thought I'd do a post on how I accomplished visiting 15 lakes in one day and show my itinerary.
For my 25th birthday I went with my parents to explore Olallie Lake Scenic Area. Last year, for my 24th birthday we went and explored 16 lakes in Gifford Pinchot National Forest. I made a post about that itinerary as well.
I have individual posts that go into extensive detail about each lake, this post is just to give a cliff notes version of the route I took to bag all these lakes in one day.
Lakes Bagged: 15
To start: It was around 1 hour and 30 minutes from Estacada, Oregon to Olallie Lake Scenic Area via Hwy 224 to FS 46 to FS 4690 to FS 4220. We left around 9:30am and got to the scenic area around 11am.
All the lakes I went to this year were accessed via FS 4220. So I'll reference the coordinates of where along FS 4220 the different stops were.
