Teepee Pond

A small, stocked fishing pond in Wallowa-Whitman National Forest.

Lake Name: Teepee Pond

Lake Coordinates: 45.85581, -117.00819

Lake Elevation: 5358'

Access: Drive up

Note: Stocked fishing pond.

Date: 8-26-23

While we were driving between Red Hill Lookout and Buckhorn Overlook, we followed the signs from the road to Teepee Pond. It was only 0.2 miles off of FS 46 and an easy "lake" to bag. It looked like a fishing pond and the water was very green. Not much to it. There was lots of room around the lake to disperse camp. Fishing is probably the only draw to this pond.

This ODFW map was the only place online I could find mention of Teepee Pond. All the links under info are broken but it does give some information:

It's described as "A small forest pond approximately 49 miles north of Enteprise, OR. It is near Tee Pee Butte. Teepee Pond is at 5300ft elevation, approximately 12ft deep, and typically accessible from May to November, depending on snowpack. Stocked annually in May, June, and September with catchable hatchery rainbow trout."
