I've hiked to this waterfall twice in the past decade. The first time I did was with my mom in the summer of 2014. We had done a small road trip to the coast together after having been in Gifford Pinchot National Forest and on our way back to Portland we decided to hike to the waterfall.
I don't even remember how we discovered it. I might have been looking at the maps app on my phone or something like that. There are usually OHV's in the area so it's not the most quiet hike. There aren't ATV's on the trail to the waterfalls but the trail does intersect with some ATV trails where we had to be alert.
I honestly don't remember much about the first time I did this hike since I was almost 15 and dealing with some pretty intense mental health issues that summer. I do remember that we were able to make our way right up to the waterfall and I found a huge frog that I have a picture with.
The second time I hiked this trail was in July 2019 with my sister. We did a road trip to Tillamook together for two nights and I wanted to show her the waterfall. The time of year we did it, we didn't see any OHV's only a few other hikers. I'd forgotten that while the trail was pretty much downhill all the way to the falls, it was then uphill all the way back to the trailhead. The waterfall was still pretty cool to see, and a relatively short hike.
