While driving back toward Portland from Tillamook, I decided to try and stop at different waterfalls along Highway 6. Fern Rock Falls is probably the most easily visible and accessible falls along the highway. There's a large pull-off and the waterfall is mostly visible from the road. There is a short, little unmarked trail that took us to the base of the waterfall. It is a pretty waterfall and the name fits. It's lined by ferns growing out of the rock cliff face.

Of all the waterfalls along Highway 6, I think this one is one of the easiest one to find.

Could definitely make a day of waterfall hopping by going to (from Tillamook to Portland):

  • Bridge Creek Falls

  • Lower Bridge Creek Falls & Footbridge

  • Fern Rock Falls

  • University Falls
