Here’s a glimpse of a day in my life on our property – the place I call home.
I’ve been trying to find new things to try and ways to challenge myself. I’ve never been big into video (mainly because I’m impatient), but I’ve always enjoyed photography. I was talking with my dad recently when I realized that videography is a lot like writing. It’s telling a story. So I decided to try it out at home before trying it out on the trail. I wanted to see what works and what doesn’t.
I went outside and captured things and moments that show what home is. I don’t ever want me “capturing” a moment to take away from me actually being present and enjoying it. So if I decide to video more, it won’t be a constant or something I always do.
Now I’ve never felt like “home” is one place and what makes “home” special to me is the people. I won’t go down that rabbit hole of explaining all the possibilities of what home means though. So for this video home is where I am most of the time. Home to me is nature and I’m lucky enough to live on property where I’m surrounded by it all the time.
I might keep doing this, I might not. Time will tell. But I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. It’s simple, short, and full of peaceful moments.
