I’d seen online that the Forest Service labels Goose Lake as a heavily used area. I tend to avoid places with tons of people, but since it was so early in the season I decided to give it a try.
My cousin and I drove to the turn off for the lake. I didn’t know if there was a day use area, or if it was only a campground. We found there was a day use parking area and boat launch, then the campground was right after it. It was a decent sized lake and there were quite a few people out fishing.
It was a bit overcast and there was a wind blowing across the lake, making the water a bit choppy. This would be a cool lake to come back to kayak.
